Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage is a very gentle massage. It is often recommended after surgery, autoimmune disorders, swelling and edema, or if you are just looking for a relaxing way to boost your immune system.

Benefits of manual lymphatic drainage:

  • Reduces swelling and edema
  • Provide an immune boost
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Neuropathic pain
  • Deep relaxation

As the name suggests, this massage allows the therapist to manually move and drain lymph in your body. Blood carries nutrients to all your cells, but what your cells do not use turn into lymph. It also contains any waste that your cells create. The lymph veins carry lymph to your lymph nodes, where the substance is filtered. Anything your body deems as unuseful or harmful is taken to the kidneys to be excreted. Manually draining lymph quickens the process and helps the body get rid of any unwanted substances, creating an immune boost. It also helps drain excess fluid caused by swelling or surgery.

This massage is also very good for those with high sensitivities. It calms the nervous system, slowing nerve signals. This relaxed state is called the parasympathetic state. When in a parasympathetic state, your body is less aware of electric conductivity caused by negative and positive charges in atoms all around you.
